King Wah Chinese Restaurant Introduce
For residents across the California Bay Area, finding a reliable, high-quality local spot for Chinese comfort food is a must, and King Wah Chinese Restaurant in Sunnyvale consistently answers that call. As a cherished neighborhood establishment, King Wah is known for serving a wide array of satisfying Cantonese-American dishes in a casual and approachable setting. Located right in the heart of Silicon Valley, the restaurant understands the need for efficiency and quality, making it a popular destination for both a quick bite during the workday and a relaxed family dinner.
This Chinese restaurant is the epitome of local, dependable dining, offering a menu filled with classics that appeal to a broad California palate. From savory stir-fries and flavorful noodle dishes to deep-fried specialties, King Wah caters to those seeking familiar, satisfying flavors. The establishment prides itself on its "home cooking" style, which many loyal patrons appreciate for its comparatively lighter preparation, particularly its moderate use of oil and sauces. Dishes that have cemented its status include the robust Beef Chow Fun and other traditional favorites that offer genuine comfort after a busy day.
While the overall experience is positive, recent customer feedback reflects the evolving landscape of the dining industry. Patrons have noted that the price has become higher and portions have become smaller for some popular items, such as the Orange Chicken. Furthermore, some visitors have suggested that the menu descriptions could be clearer to help customers better understand the preparation styles. For example, a dish like "Princess Chicken" was noted to be deep-fried in batter with a sticky sauce, which was unexpected by a customer anticipating a crispy skin. Similarly, the "Hong Kong style" Beef Chow Mein, which involves crispy noodles sitting in sauce, might benefit from a clearer explanation to first-time diners. Despite these minor notes, dishes like the Garlic Bok Choy and the Beef Chow Fun continue to receive favorable mentions, underscoring the restaurant's core competency in delivering tasty, comforting Chinese fare.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Decent chinese food but the portion has become smaller and price higher. It was very small portion on the orange chicken today. The beef chow fun has decent amount of noodle but not so much in beef.
August 02 · Helen MFood was a bit disappointing. Would serve the restaurant to have better descriptions or photos of the dishes. For instance, I ordered the Princess Chicken, described only as "deep fried, hot". I expected a crispy skin chicken. Instead it was some pretty chewy chicken pieces deep fried in batter and covered in sticky sauce. The beef chow mein had undercooked beef and only one vegetable. Turns out Hong Kong style means crispy noodles (raw?) sitting in sauce. Garlic bok choy was good.
July 10 · Michelle VOmg I can't believe this restaurant is not raved about enough! I've been coming to King Wah since I've moved to the South Bay Area and it is truly a hidden gem. I come here with my family whenever we are craving Chinese food and they have everything you could think of on the menu. My favorite items are the Honey Walnut Prawns (they are BOMB!), the Dry Fried Chicken Chow Fun, Minced Pork with Green Bean, Salt and Pepper Fish Filet and Sing Chow Mai Fun. The staff is so friendly and they always remember my family's order since we tend to order the same items and almost come weekly. I find it so heartwarming that they remember their customers and treat you like family. I can't recommend this restaurant enough if you are craving delicious Chinese food!
June 13 · Christine WMy parents started going here 25 years ago when they first started dating. Now, I am 21 years old and I live in Seattle, but we still make a point of making the trip out to Sunnyvale everytime we visit because of its continued amazing service and amazing food, and we always tell our friends to eat there if they are in town. Our favorite dish is the Beef Chow Mein (Hong Kong Style) and we always order one whole dish for every person in our group. I am sure it is supposed to be split between multiple people but it is just so good! And we don't come to California so often so it's a special treat. King Wah Chinese Restaurant has a special place in my heart (and in my stomach) 🥰 thank you for the great time and great memories
