For anyone in the South Bay—from local college students to families looking for a healthy weeknight meal—Aloha Fresh is worth choosing for three compelling reasons that set it apart in the crowded poke market:
- The Unmatched Authenticity: Simply put, this is the “closest thing you’ll get for poke without being in Hawaii.” The use of fresh, high-quality fish and traditional Hawaiian seasonings, such as Hawaiian rock salt in their “Hawaiian Ahi Poke,” offers a flavor profile that is distinct and superior to mainland poke chains. This authenticity is a huge draw for Bay Area foodies.
- The Full Hawaiian Plate Lunch Experience: Unlike many poke bars that only offer raw fish, Aloha Fresh provides the full spectrum of Hawaiian comfort food. The ability to order hot extras like the savory “Garlic Chicken,” a delicious piece of “Lau Lau,” or the quintessential “Spam Musubi” alongside a fresh poke bowl or as part of the “Surf N Turf” option provides a truly satisfying and well-rounded meal.
- Exceptional Value for Quality: While some patrons note the price is “somewhat pricey,” they universally agree it is “100% worth it.” The generous portions, the freshness of the ingredients, and the overall quality of the Hawaiian specialties justify the price point, especially when compared to the cost of other high-quality seafood options in the region. The “Poke Lover” bowl, offering two kinds of poke and two sides, is an excellent investment in a delicious and filling meal.
Aloha Fresh is a must-visit spot that truly lives up to its name, bringing the “aloha” spirit and the taste of the Pacific to the California coastline.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Closest thing you’ll get for poke without being in Hawaii your self in the Bay Area. Great options and selections. They operate with poke bowls.Choose your type, where it’s a single poke, rice, sides. Or a 1 hot and 1 poke item with rice, and sides. Or what I ordered a “poke lovers”. 2 poke, rice, and 2 sides.I always order the kalbi ahi, more unique combination that i haven’t tried in Hawaii and the kalui nut salmon. Sides are seaweed salad and Mac salad.Somewhat pricey for $15-20 a bowl but 100% worth it. Whenever we’re in the South Bay this is one of the automatic goto spots for the wife and I. Worth a stop by.Don’t sleep on the butter mochi! Guava and lilikoi both amazing!
October 08 · Ivan AlphaCame here a few years back and recently revisited this place again. Their poke bowls are delicious. There are many options to choose from.Ordered the Poke Lover and the Poke Nachos. Both of them are good and really like the wonton chips that come with the nachos. It tasted really good with poke.Downsides of this place are:- There is no sitting area. It's for to-go only. If you want to eat there, you'll have to find a bench outside to sit. It's not ideal for hot or rainy weather.- Very small place and line is sometimes outside the door. The line doesn't move fast either.- Parking isn't easy on the weekend or during busy hours. If you come during the week, prepare to pay for parking. It would be nice if they open another location with seating areas and better parking.
September 06 · Katrinavery fresh and delicious! the mac salad and the imitation crab salad are a touch too mayo-y for my taste (perhaps some black pepper or vinegar could help?) but the poke items are super good. I did think the sweet soy salmon was a bit bland, but I also think that was what helped me taste how fresh the fish is, so it wasn't a complete L
June 01 · JungeunVery tasty and fresh poke bowls here! They have a good variety of seasoned fish to choose from and they always taste fresh. I also really love their black rice that they offer. Also this is a take out spot only, there are no seats inside for you to eat. There are tables and a few benches outside and across the street
October 13 · MiquelaWow. Totally loved the food and the vibes. We appreciated the options and how quickly we were able to get in and out of the store. The staff was super friendly and they were able to answer questions and make recommendations while they were moving around the space and helping others. We will be back for sure!
